Training Programme for Cultural Network Management
Riga, December 3 – 5, 2009

By addressing issues of cultural sustainability with focus on networking, the Training Programmefor cultural network management entitled “Organized Networks” will take place in Riga,December 3 – 5, 2009, gathering together representatives from more then 20 cultural organisations, new media centers and networks from Baltic, Nordic and other European regions, as well as Caucasus countries.

Pixelache 2009

Piksel sister festival and long time collaborator Pixelache are hosting their 2009 edition in Helsinki this weekend.

Piksel are following the activities which this year has no official theme but loosely gravitates around issues of alternative economies and environmental sustainability.

Pictured above is the audiovisual hacking container on exhibit outside the Kiasma centre. It features works resulting from the audiovisual hacking workshop featuring piksellites Koelse and Gijs Gieskes. Gijs will also do a club performance showing some of his latest instruments during the festival.

The glitch aesthetics, along with the hypnotic electronic music, result in a cathartic defacing of a rigid pillar of consumerism, a beautiful blasphemy against the corporate cult.
