Welcome to the 23rd edition of the Piksel Festival for Art and Technological Freedom! 💫

From November 20th to 23rd, Bergen transforms into the stage for cutting-edge electronic art, with 3 days of workshops, artist presentations, audiovisual concerts and exhibitions across the city.

This year’s venues — Alt Går Bra, Østre, Studio 207, the Natural History Museum, and Piksel HQ — will host a vibrant mix of experimentation, technology, and creativity.

We've added online and streaming activities to our Twitch channel and FRIKANALEN TV!

Check out our special program Perma/Soils – Interdisciplinary Strategies for Soil Recuperation, featuring an exhibition and seminar in collaboration with the University of Oslo, and an event led by Ewen Chardronnet and Maya Minder. More information coming soon!

We’re proud to present in Bergen and Vestland Natasha Barrett’s latest work — “Constructions of Collapse and Desire.”

This immersive performance combines 3D sound, multi-screen projection, computer graphics, and live sound & video processing to explore a world on the edge of collapse — and rebirth.

“Media, science, images present a world in collapse. Yet the buildings around me are still standing. The nature outside still grows… But if constructions of man and nature collapse, I hope they will regroup as beautiful objects of desire. At least in my dreams.” — Natasha Barrett

Experience a reimagined reality through sound and vision — where architecture, nature, and dreams intertwine.
Featuring sonic and visual landscapes from a rural train station, a snow-covered path into the night, and Oslo’s Barcode District.

Piksel is an international festival for electronic art and technological freedom. Part workshop, part festival, it is organised in Bergen, Norway, and involves participants from more than a dozen countries exchanging ideas, coding, presenting art and software projects, doing workshops, performances and discussions on the aesthetics and politics of art and free technologies.

Piksel is supported by the Municipality of Bergen, Arts Council Norway and others.
