Welcome to the Piksel (NO) Festival, a festival of art works which focus on energy systems and the current energy crisis. The festival functions as a roaming, parasitic city tour, where we view the art works by parasitising on public infrastructures in Bergen. By reclaiming and performing the hacking nature of parasites, we roam the city carrying art works which we plug in at publicly accessible power outlets. We move from place to place approaching energy infrastructures, their history and their condition from different angles through art works and talks. We are the (NO) Piksel energy parasites.
Physical Obstruction, Electrostatic Discharge Attack, Direct Hooking, these are methods to steal energy and also the Piksel (no) festival tours’ names the curators have chosen to unfold the Piksel (No) Festival program. Along 3 days, talks, workshops and artworks from Aram Bartholl, Tega Brain, Nadja Buttendorf , Cara New Daggett, Kris de Decker, Francisco J. Doblas Reyes, Max Dovey, eeefff, Bruno Gola, Ben Grosser, GOODIEPAL, Lars Holdhus, Paul Kolling, Polina Medvedeva, Joana Moll and YoHa will be unveiled around the city of Bergen.
From the 23rd to the 25th of November, the city of Bergen hosts the Piksel (no) festival and includes in the program the results of the EFFEA residency from theartists Flor de Fuego and Blaz Pavlika as the closure of the program. Piksel KidZ will have a new edition focused on live coding programing for young people.

About Piksel
Piksel is an international event for artists and developers working with Free/Libre and Open Source technologies in artistic practice.
